Friday Favorites~August 11, 2023

Happy Friday!

Today is my sweet dad's 85th birthday. So blessed to have the parents I have.

Here he is last weekend using a chainsaw in my backyard...yes he's 85 and cuts trees with a chainsaw...more on the tree in a bit.

I hope the last few weeks have treated you well. I am eight days into my 2023-2024 school year contract and I am excited about the upcoming year. I am also tired! Re-entry is always a bit of a learning curve.

I am linking up with Andrea and Erika to share my Friday Favorites.

ONE

I love this show so much! I watched the first episode of the new season on Wednesday and it is as good as ever. Such a smart entertaining show.

And if you haven't watched Ted Lasso, we finished it over the summer. Truly one of the best shows I've ever seen from start to finish. I need more Ted Lasso in my life.

TWO

We had a tree fall in our backyard last Saturday.

And while that was definitely not a favorite, my patio furniture continues to be. Let's reminisce...

It saved that tree from causing thousands of dollars of damage to our concrete and pool cover. One section bore the brunt of the fall so I will have to rebuy. Good thing the sofa in this line is on major sale. I have raved about the quality of this furniture before, but now I have proof! A similar rug can be found here.

THREE

One of the perks of returning to school is getting dressed for work again. It continues to be all about the kelly green for me.

I get so many compliments on this dress (currently 50% off) and this jacket (25% off with code NEWLOOK) is a closet staple and worth the splurge.

FOUR

I'm always on the lookout for ways to make our school mornings more efficient and organized. A good morning at home can set the tone for the whole day for a child...for us too! In that regard, I added this to Mason's closet last week to help with planning clothes for the week. One slot for each day of the week. Not a new idea, but a good one nontheless!

FIVE

Speaking of Mason, he started his own YouTube channel this past summer where he records himself playing Fortnite. On Tuesday, we woke up to one of his videos having been viewed over 1K times...what? As of the writing of this blog, that video has 64k views...are you kidding me? Needless to say, he's been pretty excited about his content creation. I love to see kids trying new things and reaching goals.  Do you know a kid who likes to watch other kids play Fortnite? Have them subscribe to Pro Z on YouTube

Xx,

Deanna

  1. Aww! Happy birthday to your dad. Your dad sounds a lot like mine, he's 75 and still doing things he probably shouldn't be at his age. hehehe
Well done to your garden furniture for catching the tree.
I used to have those hanging shelves when my girls were little, they were so helpful at organising their uniforms.
